  • You Can Work in Various Settings in the Outpatient Setting

Nursing allows you to work in different settings in the outpatient setting. For example, you can work in a diagnostic center, doctor's office, rehabilitation center, etc. You will always find the right fit for your personality.

  • You Can Earn a Good Salary

A career in nursing is great as you will make a great living. The salary nurses earn is among the essential factors why one should consider this career path. Note that good pay is always an important factor to consider when starting a new job.

  • You can Choose The kind of Population You want to work with

Another good reason nursing is a good career choice is that it allows you to choose the population you prefer to work with. You might want to make a difference by working with elderly people or working with children. But if yours is working with middle-aged adults, you may have to consider Adult health as your field. No matter the area you are interested in, every section of the population needs nurses.

  • You will have a Steady Income

Another reason to consider a nursing career is the steady income. You are sure of always having a paycheck. This is a good one as you won’t need to worry about having enough money for bills and other financial concerns.

  • You Can Work Full-Time or Part-Time

One of the great things about nursing is that you do not have to work full-time. You can choose to work part-time depending on your preferences. This profession allows you to choose how many hours you want to work per week.

  • You Can Work per-diem

There is another type of nursing position you can also choose to work that is not full-time, it is per-diem. Per-diem nurses work on a shift-to-shift or day-by-day basis. It can be in a home unit or can be floated to different locations for each shift. As a per-diem nurse, you will have the opportunity to work on days you are available and create your schedule. 

Most per diem-nurses work three to four shifts a week. Others even work as few as one or two shifts. When you can schedule your shifts this way, it makes it easy to plan.

  • Ability To Work In Various Environments Within The Hospital

Having to choose the department you want to work in the hospital is another reason why nursing is a good career choice. Nurses can work in a variety of departments in the hospital. You can choose to work in the intensive care unit, delivery room, operating room, or any other department you prefer.

  • You Can Also Work in various Settings in the School System

As a nurse, you can work within the school system as a school nurse or even a teacher in a nursing program. You will work with sick and injured students as a school nurse and visit them at home if such case arises. Also, you will be responsible for writing reports of any infectious diseases and establishing school health policies.

If you choose to be a teacher in a nursing program, you will have the responsibility of teaching student nurses about the basics of the nursing profession.

  • You Can Have a Nursing Job where Your Practice is Not on People

As a nurse, you can choose to pursue a career in research and never lay a hand on a patient. You can also work as a coordinator of different services or a case manager.
